Captain: the leader of a troop who is responsible for the overall well-being and organization of his or her troop and makes important decisions; one is qualified for this rank if he or she is at least one year old and has mentored one pupil; remains Captain until death or retirement.


Captain's Aide (or just Aide): second in command who aids the Captain in leading a troop and making important decisions; organizes patrols; will replace the Captain when he or she retires or dies; one is qualified for this rank if he or she is at least one year old and has mentored one pupil; remains Aide until promotion to Captain, retirement, or death.


Healer: a fox who uses wild herbs and medicinal knowledge to heal sick or injured troop-mates; females are not allowed to have kits unless there is another full healer to work in her absense; there may only be two full healers at any given time; one may qualify for this rank if he or she is a year old and has received full training by another healer; remains healer until death or retirement.


Healer's Pupil: a young fox, from four to twelve moons, in training to become a full healer; one may qualify for this rank if he or she is four to twelve moons old and is chosen to be trained by the troop healer.


Vicar: the spiritual connection between Sanctum and the Troops; has no other duties besides speaking to Sanctum through the Augur once a moon and maintaining the spirituality within their respected troop; cannot take a mate; every vicar is born with a distinct scar in their left ear; vicars are reincarnated when they die, and there can only be one vicar per troop at any given time; troops are left without a vicar when theirs die, until the newly reincarnated vicar reaches four moons and begins their duties; remains Vicar from birth to death. Trooper: the adult member of a troop who has finished their training; hunt, defend, and care for the troop as a whole; trains pupils and carries out daily duties; may be promoted into Captain's Aide, later Captain, or even be taken on as a Healer's pupil; remain troopers from seven moons to promotion, retirement, or death.


Pupil: a young fox four to seven moons old in training to become troopers; may become a healer's pupil as well; not allowed to leave camp without permission or an escort; often the subject of tedious, camp chores.


New Mother: a vixen who is expecting, has newborn kits, or kits under four moons; cannot leave the nursery for a long duration if she has kits under a moon old and must rely on troop-mates or her mate to care for her; can have up to five kits to a litter and may adopt; must be at least seven moons old.


Retired: troop members that have retired due to old age or ailment; when spoken about specifically, the rank is broken down into Elders (troopers who have retired due to old age, usually five years or older) and Afflicted (troopers who have retired due to ailment that makes them unable to do daily Troop activites; may be anywhere from four moons to four years). Note: Some individuals may handle certain handicaps better, and this title is only for those unable to do daily troop duties effectively.


Kit: a fox under four moons old; not allowed to leave camp.
